• What kind of piece do you want?  ex. Portrait, Album, etc...
• About what size do you want it to be?
• Do you have a type of wood preference?
• Do you want it painted, in whole or just a single part?
• When do you need it by?
• Do you want names, dates, etc.. on it?
• Do you want it finished?  if so, Matte, Satin, Semi, Gloss?
• Do you want to be updated on progress?

These are just a few helpful things I will need and there will be some more, but we will cover those when we talk..
